چکیده

The galling insect Leptocybe invasa Fisher & La Salle (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) is a major limiting factor in the cultivation of drought-tolerant eucalyptus. L. pest eucalyptus plantations, and Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) being investigated as potential biocontrol agent against this pest. fungus B. can produce metabolites that affect biology survival. Here, we ability entomopathogenic to endophytically develop induce resistance hybrid. In greenhouse under semi-controlled conditions, group seedlings were sprayed with solution containing fungal spores bassiana. uninoculated inoculated infested invasa, their morphometric responses, gas exchange, chlorophyll indexes assessed. number leaves height plants was higher than those plants. mean CO2 assimilation rate (A) transpiration (E) for showed chl b contents. Compared plants, developed much fewer galls, while some only scar formations where deposited its eggs. These results indicated inoculating Eucalyptus promoted invasa. To best our knowledge, first study showing an promote

Allergens of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana

BACKGROUND: Beauveria bassiana is an important entomopathogenic fungus currently under development as a bio-control agent for a variety of insect pests. Although reported to be non-toxic to vertebrates, the potential allergenicity of Beauveria species has not been widely studied. METHODS: IgE-reactivity studies were performed using sera from patients displaying mould hypersensitivity by immunob...

Adhesion of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria (Cordyceps) bassiana to substrata.

The entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana produces at least three distinct single-cell propagules, aerial conidia, vegetative cells termed blastospores, and submerged conidia, which can be isolated from agar plates, from rich broth liquid cultures, and under nutrient limitation conditions in submerged cultures, respectively. Fluorescently labeled fungal cells were used to quantify the kine...

Compatibility of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana with the insecticides fipronil, pyriproxyfen and hexaflumuron

Surface characteristics of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria (Cordyceps) bassiana.

Marked differences in surface characteristics were observed among three types of single-cell propagules produced by the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) revealed the presence of bundles or fascicles in aerial conidia absent from in vitro blastospores and submerged conidia. Contact angle measurements using polar and apolar test liquids placed on cell laye...

Parasitoids of the eucalyptus gall wasp Leptocybe invasa (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) in China

Leptocybe invasa Fisher & La Salle (Hymenoptera, Eulophidae) is an invasive pest in Eucalyptus plantations throughout the world. Potential biological control agents for L. invasa were investigated in the Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, and Sichuan provinces of China, where Eucalyptus spp. have been severely damaged by the eucalyptus gall wasp. Three hymenopteran parasitoids of L. i...
